I am a Lead Software Engineer who architects and implements systems across a wide variety of technologies. I love learning, applying new technologies, and solving puzzles. Skilled in the opensource Freeswitch Telephony platform, API Development, Python, Cloud (AWS), C# development, DevOps, Docker/Kubernetes, React.JS / Node.JS development, Twilio IVR development high performance database management, and microservices. I am always on the lookout for new stuff in tech and enjoy solving hard business problems that create value for customers.

Lead Software Engineer - TransUnion

Lead a team of 5 creating a highly secure multi-factor authentication API to protect customers from fraudulent user logins through TransUnion's TruValidate platform.

Lead a lot of the DevOps efforts on our team including Jenkins pipelines, Container management, and designing end to end CI/CD pipelines.

2019 - 2021
Senior Software Engineer - TransUnion

Worked on a secure multi-factor authentication product LaunchKey that allows customers to easily add a secure authentication method to your platform. My focus is on Python applications running on Kubernetes and I also managed development on our Python / C# public SDKs.

I was the security lead on our team and was the leader of the internal Security Champions group where the security leads met and discussed how to make sure we design everything with cyber-security best practices in mind.

Software Development Engineer - Etel Connections

Created a Node.JS API and React Frontend website

Created realtime audio comparison algorithms to reduce fradulent and wasteful calls on our network

Wrote event based software for FreeSWITCH that emulated the capabilities of CPaaS company Twilio

2015 - 2018
Systems Engineer - Etel Connections

Lead a development team to continue work on the MySQL cluster as well as leading my own team on converting the companies old .NetNuke website to a more modern framework (React.JS) and creating an API (Express.JS)

Researched and provided architecture designs to move a core database system from MSSQL to MySQL NDB. Researched and tested cloud deployment of this system to AWS and created a solution to connect our on-prem equipment with AWS infrastructure.

Developed full stack, user leveraged IVR solution utilizing open source technologies (Freeswitch for the telephony, RabbitMQ for the message bus, Chef for devops deployment, and python for the services) to provide a carrier grade reliable platform that consumes half a million calls a day and uses an intelligent routing system to provide hot leads to call center sales.
